We pulled real pricing data from all four tools. Three raised prices in the last year. Free plans are shrinking. Here's exactly what you'll pay in 2026.

| Recent Change | +7% | +18% | +40% | +33% |
Asana — $10.99 to $24.99/user/mo
Asana raised paid tiers ~7% in early 2025, but the bigger move was gutting the free plan: from 10 users down to just 2 for new accounts (November 2025). Enterprise now requires a minimum of 50 paid seats.
AI strategy: AI Studio launched June 2025 with autonomous agents for repetitive tasks. AI is bundled free into all paid plans — unlike ClickUp which charges extra. Asana is repositioning from task management to “organizational governance,” gating portfolio and governance features in higher tiers.
Best for: Mid-market teams (50-500 people) that need portfolio-level views and cross-functional workflows. Not worth it for small teams anymore with the free plan gutted.
Monday.com — $9 to $19/seat/mo
18% price increase on monday service effective February 2026. Minimum 3 seats on paid plans, sold in multiples of 5 — a team of 6 pays for 10. Monthly billing adds another ~18% premium on top.
AI strategy: Monday agents (March 2025), improved monday sidekick (Jan 2026), plus “vibe coding” — build apps with plain English. Most aggressive platform play in the space, expanding into CRM, service management, dev tools, and marketing simultaneously.
Best for: Teams that want one platform for everything. Monday's visual workflow builder is still the most intuitive for non-technical users. The seat-rounding tax hurts small teams though.
ClickUp — $7 to $19/user/mo
Unlimited plan jumped 40% — from $5 to $7/user. Time tracking features that were previously free are now paywalled. ClickUp Brain (AI) costs an additional $7/user/mo and is mandatory for the entire workspace — you can't enable it for some users only.
Watch out: Guest-to-member auto-conversion via SSO has caused documented cost shocks. One verified case saw a 733% bill increase. If you use SSO, audit your guest settings carefully.
Best for: Feature maximalists who want docs, whiteboards, time tracking, goals, and project management in one tool. Lowest entry price at $7/user. Large teams can negotiate to $5-6.50/user with multi-year commitments.
Notion — $10 to $20/user/mo
Major pricing restructure in May 2025: killed the standalone AI add-on ($8-10/user) and bundled unlimited AI exclusively into the Business tier at $20/user — a 33% jump from the old $15 Business price. Plus users get virtually no AI.
AI strategy: Notion 3.0 (Sept 2025) launched autonomous AI agents with multi-model support (GPT-5, Claude, o3). Rapid release cadence: 3.0, 3.1, 3.2 shipped in 4 months. 90+ features in 2025 alone.
Best for: Teams that need a flexible knowledge base + light project management. Binary pricing choice: $10 (no AI) or $20 (full AI). If AI matters to your workflow, you're paying $20.
What You Actually Pay: 10-Person Team
| Tool | Plan | Monthly Cost | Annual Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| ClickUp | Unlimited | $70/mo | $840/yr |
| Monday | Basic | $90/mo | $1,080/yr |
| Notion | Plus | $100/mo | $1,200/yr |
| Asana | Starter | $110/mo | $1,320/yr |
Based on annual billing at entry paid tier. ClickUp + Brain AI adds $70/mo ($1,680/yr total). Notion with AI (Business) = $200/mo ($2,400/yr).
Quick Decision Guide
Cheapest entry: ClickUp at $7/user. But watch for AI add-on costs and the SSO guest trap.
Non-technical teams: Monday.com. The visual builder is unmatched for ops, marketing, and HR workflows.
Knowledge base + PM: Notion. Especially if you're already using it for docs. Just budget for the $20/user Business tier if you need AI.
Enterprise governance: Asana. Portfolio views, workload management, and org-level reporting are its moat.
