I Tracked Every Pricing Change Across 20 SaaS Tools in March 2026
Every month, I manually check pricing pages, changelogs, and release notes across the SaaS tools people actually use. Here are 10 specific data points from this month — and the 5 trends they reveal.
Covers: ClickUp, Monday.com, Asana, Notion, Linear, Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign, Kit, Beehiiv, Brevo
10 Pricing Changes You Probably Missed
Unlimited plan up 40% ($5 → $7/user/mo)
Service tier up 18%, seats sold in multiples of 5
Free plan slashed from 10 users to 2. Paid tiers +7%
Killed standalone AI add-on. Business tier now $20/user (+33%)
68% cumulative price cut ($50 → $16). Deliberate land-grab vs Jira
Free tier shrunk again (500 → 250 contacts). 20-30% cumulative increases since Intuit acquisition
Killed free plan. Legacy users seeing 30-63% annual hikes. Now charges for inactive contacts
~35% increase with rebrand. Free plan still generous at 10K subs, but AI features nearly non-existent
Holding prices. 0% revenue commission. Shipping AI website builder, podcast hosting, social tools
$583M raise, now a unicorn. AI agent (Aura) on free plan. MCP server for AI assistants
5 Trends Behind the Numbers
1.Everyone raised prices (except Linear and Beehiiv)
8 out of 10 tools I tracked increased prices in the last 12 months. The average increase was 25%. ClickUp (+40%) and Notion (+33%) led the charge. Linear is the lone wolf — cutting prices 68% in a deliberate Jira land-grab.
2.AI features are the new pricing lever
Notion killed its standalone AI add-on and bundled it into a $20/user Business tier. ClickUp charges $7/user extra. Asana bundles it free. ActiveCampaign locks it behind Pro ($79+/mo). The question is no longer "does it have AI" but "how is AI priced."
3.Free tiers are dying
Mailchimp went from 500 to 250 free contacts. Asana went from 10 to 2 free users. ActiveCampaign killed its free plan entirely. Notion stripped AI from free. The era of generous free tiers as a growth engine is ending.
4.Contact-based pricing is under attack
Brevo charges per email volume (unlimited contacts). Beehiiv offers unlimited sends. Meanwhile, Mailchimp counts unsubscribed contacts and ActiveCampaign counts inactive ones. Volume-based alternatives are gaining share.
5.Multi-model AI is the new expectation
Both ClickUp and Notion now let users choose between GPT-5, Claude, and o3 inside the product. Single-model tools look limited by comparison. Brevo launched MCP server integration — positioning for the AI agent era.
